OVERVIEW
The right to COBRA continuation coverage was
created by a federal law, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act
of 1985 (COBRA). COBRA continuation coverage can become available to you in
certain circumstances when you would otherwise lose your group health
coverage under the Plan. The
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) reduces the COBRA
premium in some cases. To help
determine whether you can get the ARRA premium reduction, you should read the
information provided to you or the documents on this website. Extracts from the Department of Labor,
Department of Human and Health Services and the Internal Revenue Service
websites are included for your review.
