COVID / Flu Vaccines

Updated 09/06/24
COVID / Flu Vaccines
The new COVID/Flu vaccines for 2024-25 are in. Schedule your appointment today.
HMSA Members:
Both vaccines are 100% covered under your HMSA medical plan regardless of whether you receive your vaccine at your physician’s office or at a Hawaii pharmacy. Click the following links for a list of pharmacies in Hawaii that accept HMSA coverage or for more information about the COVID vaccine.
If you would like to make an appointment at a Longs Drugs pharmacy, it is easiest to schedule an appointment through the CVS pharmacy mobile app (red icon). Upon making your appointment, if you receive a message from your pharmacy that your vaccine is not covered, the pharmacy may just not have your medical insurance on file. Please be sure to take your HMSA membership card to your appointment.
HMSA Medicare Members:
Coverage is provided under Medicare Part B, so please take your Medicare card to your appointment.
Kaiser Permanente Members:
Visit kp.org/seasonalvaccines for a list of Kaiser Permanente locations where the vaccines are available. No appointment necessary. Walk-ins are welcome at all Kaiser Permanente clinics Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm (closed from noon-1:30pm). The Honolulu, Koolau, Maui Lani, and Waipio locations will also accept walk-ins on Saturdays from 8am-noon starting September 14. If you cannot remember when you last received a vaccine, log on to kp.org to view your immunization history.
Humana Members:
The respiratory illness season often peaks in the winter. Just a reminder to get this year’s updated flu and COVID-19 shots. Through your Humana plan, Medicare members have a $0 copay for flu and COVID-19 shots.
There are 3 easy ways to get your flu and COVID-19 shots:

  • Visit a clinic at your local grocery store or pharmacy
  • Use the national vaccine finder tool at vaccines.gov/find-vaccines
  • Get one at your next doctor visit
COVID At-Home Tests
Free at-home COVID tests will be available again through the government website (covid.gov/tests) at the end of September.
